Lineman Family History
Northeast dirt modified racing is truly a family tradition. Lineman Racing is known for its family involvement, most of our race team is made up of family members and close family friends. Bob and Ann Lineman started the race team in 1974. Bob bought a Krietz chassis and started racing at Flemington Speedway in Flemington NJ. Bob went on to compete at other speedways such as East Windsor, Reading Fair Grounds, and Nazareth. In the late 80’s and early 90’s, Bob moved on to the tri-track circuit of Big Diamond, Grandview, and Penn National.
In 1990 Bob had the best season of his career, winning 4 features at Bridgeport Speedway and 1 at Grandview Speedway. Bob Lineman has competed over 30 years and has raced at more than 20 different racetracks, spanning from Cornwall Speedway in Ontario Canada to The Dirt Track at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charlotte NC. Bob is in the top 10 of all time winning drivers small block division at Bridgeport Speedway. He has 10 feature wins at Bridgeport, 1 at Grandview Speedway, and 1 win at Seacoast (Georgetown) Speedway.
Bob & Ann Lineman are the parents of 3 children, Bob Jr., Jim, and Ann Marie. Bob is the owner-operator of Cenco Heating Oil and Propane in Burlington, NJ, which is now the home of Lineman Racing an Authorized Troyer dealer, as well as the home for the USA-1 Modified. The Lineman Family lives in Doylestown, PA.
In the past years, Lineman Racing had Modified standout Richie Tobias drive their USA1 big block. They have run a wide variety of special shows, Hagerstown, Grandview and Super Dirt Week just to name a few. They have one of the highest finish percentages in the past years at super dirt week.
The family tradition still continues as Bob Lineman Jr. has taken over the driving of the family-owned USA-1 in the small block division at various speedways.
